One of the most frequent support calls for SharePoint 2010 were requests for security changes. Due to the uncontrolled nature of the security it was always challenging to resolve issues.

Subsequently when 2013 was deployed a new model was designed and implemented with a goal to:

  • lock down what staff were able to do
  • simply the process for making security changes and
  • simply the model to aid troubleshooting and reduce resolution times

This model was rolled out using a combination of SharePoint pages, lists and Nintex workflow and forms and reduced the request for support by over 80%.
